Today, I went to this exhibition at St Helens College to see what other students are doing after finishing university myself. I had a look round, There was a variety of pieces. I have picked a few that I wanted to reflect on.

The piece of work in the photo above was created by the student Rebecca Dixon and the project was entitled Sense of Place and she decided to represent the two places that she goes everyday which were her local park and her living room.
Both of these places meant something to her because they made her feel safe and happy, also where she can be free and relax.
The artist that inspired her was Anna Dubrowska, a mixed media collage artist who uses muted tones and found objects in her textile pieces. Dubrowska's influence can be found in the use of personal images and found objects such as leaves which helped Rebecca Dixon to combine aspects of both of the special places.
Personally, I have enjoyed looking at her work because of how everything fits together, I sometimes when I do a collage of my own, I struggle with it.
_____
Overall, I couldnt navigate where all the work was because it wasn't clearly market out. It was totally different to my own degree show which was easy to follow.
