I am an Interdisciplinary Designer and Multimedia Artist and I can operate within a variety of different formats, enabling me to produce work that might exist as either, 2D images and texts, or 3D objects. I am interested in producing pieces of work in different mediums which gives variety to my work and I can adapt to various objectives.
I enjoy experimenting and producing a large amount of work that I can use as a basis for further editing, until I can eventually tease out the most successful works. From experimenting with various materials within this project I finally chose a material that I wanted to focus on and end up mastering its aesthetics. For the Fine Art aspect of my degree I have worked with one specific object and one specific material and explored them in a variety of ways to master and exploit their properties. After experimenting I chose another material to go with the expanding foam which was using a fishnet sock material alongside expanding polyurethane foam I have made works that propose connotations of constraint, pregnancy and fashion.
For this exhibition, I have included four different outcomes. I have created a row of the expanding foam and fishnet material pieces using the ones that are in red and I created another row using the red coloured fishnet material and the blue coloured fishnet material which have been alternated. I have done this to see what the piece looks in different ways. I have included two pieces that include a plinth which has painted lines designated to the colour of the fishnet pieces, painted branches, coloured string and fishnet foam pieces. In each of them, I have worked with a specific colour scheme which relates to the colour of the fishnet material. I have made the branches lean against the plinth so they are free standing and they look like they are about to fall over. Also, the fishnet pieces are hung on the branches like they are flowers, they look like they can be easily picked off. The pieces of string add a linear aspect to it and draws your eyes alongside the plinth and the branches add a linear aspect too. All the pieces added together makes the piece have a balance.
From my practice, I have worked in various materials that could apply to different outcomes and scenarios. I enjoy experimenting and working with colour schemes in a piece of work which is shown in my pieces that are exhibited in this exhibition.
